FAQ - Web hosting
How Primcast web hosting works, from the order to the day you move up a plan.
What control panel do I get?
Our own. Web hosting is managed in the Web Hosting tab of your Primcast dashboard, the same place as your other services and invoices, with the login you already have. From there you add sites and subdomains, edit DNS records, create mailboxes, databases and FTP accounts, choose PHP versions, install apps, add SSH keys and Git repositories, schedule cron jobs, watch your visitors and uptime and restore backups.
How soon is my hosting ready?
As soon as your payment is confirmed. Our platform sets the account up on its own, with no ticket in between, and emails you the link to your control panel, the nameservers to use, and your mail and FTP settings.
Is SSL included?
Yes, free on every site. A certificate is issued automatically once the domain points to our servers and is renewed before it expires. You can also force HTTPS for a site with one switch.
How do backups work?
Every account is backed up every night, files, databases and mail included. How many days and weeks you can go back depends on your plan, and each plan above shows it. You can restore a single file, a database or a mailbox yourself from the dashboard, or download a backup.
Can I have email on my own domain?
Yes. Each plan includes email accounts on your domain, with webmail in the browser and IMAP, POP3 and SMTP for your mail apps. The records that help your mail get delivered (SPF, DKIM and DMARC) are created for you.
Which databases are included?
MySQL databases, running on MariaDB, with phpMyAdmin one click away in the dashboard. How many databases you can create depends on your plan.
Can I upload my files over FTP?
Yes. Create FTP accounts in the dashboard, each with its own password and, if you like, its own folder. Connections are encrypted with TLS. For quick changes there is also a file manager right in the dashboard.
Which PHP versions can I use?
You choose the PHP version for each site from the versions the platform runs, and you can adjust common PHP settings, such as the memory limit, within your plan's range.
Can I run WordPress?
Yes. Install WordPress on any of your sites in one click from the dashboard, and keep it updated, hardened and tested on a staging copy before changes go live. Nextcloud, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop and Laravel install the same way. WordPress runs like any other PHP application, so you can also upload a site you already have.
Will my site load quickly?
Yes. Every site sits behind Nexo Turbo, our own speed layer, which keeps pages ready in a cache, compresses them and serves them over HTTP/3. It works with popular WordPress cache plugins: add one from the dashboard in one click and your pages are cached and refreshed for you. PHP also keeps your code ready in memory, and on Premium and Enterprise it stays running between visits, so even the first visitor does not wait.
Can I run Node.js or Python, or deploy with Git?
Yes, on every plan. Node.js 22, 24 or 26 and Python 3.11 to 3.14 apps run on your own domain and are kept running for you. Git repositories update your site each time you push, and SSH and SFTP open with your own keys. How many apps and repositories you get depends on your plan.
Can I move to a bigger plan later?
Yes, yourself, from the Overview of the Web Hosting tab. Choose Premium or Enterprise, pay what is left up to your renewal date, and the new limits apply to the same account within a minute of payment, with your sites, mail and files where they are.
Do I need a domain to order?
No. You can order without one and add it from the dashboard later. When you have it, point it at our nameservers and we host its DNS, or keep your DNS where it is and add the records the dashboard shows you.
